       The management of the airport, as well as all the staff do their best for the airport development. The basic rate is our own forces and means, but we hope also for support of our state in realization of scale projects. Minsk National Airport was honoured with the award of the Government of the Republic of Belarus for achievments in the quality area in 2009. The award for the implementation of high-performance methods in quality management and therefore for the high level of the services was presented to the airport management by the Prime Minister of Belarus - Sergey Sidorski.

Since the 10-th of August 2009 Belarusian National Airlines «Belavia» has operated a new flight to/from Minsk National Airport on route: Minsk – Amsterdam – Minsk every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.

For 6 months 2009 Minsk National Airport handled 417 827 passengers that is 0,7% more in comparison with the same period of 2008. For the first this half year 4 116 flights were carried out; 3 836,4 ton of cargo were handled that is 3,6% more.

A one-million passenger of RUE «Minsk National Airport»

On the 24th of December, 2008 on the eve of Christmas holidays a one-million passenger of the current year was handled by RUE «Minsk National Airport». The lucky one was a transit passenger taking his way from a business trip from Kemerovo (RF) on flight B2-1957 operated by BELAVIA 957 on the route Moscow (Domodedovo) – Minsk.
The first handled one-million passenger is a significant event that has being waited by Minsk National Airport for the long 15 years. And it is not occasionally that the one-million passenger is a customer of the national carrier BELAVIA whose contribution to the total amount of operated passengers of Minsk National Airport is more than 60%.
In spite of the general world tendency of the slowdown of growth in civil aviation Minsk National Airport provided the increase in the amount of handled passengers by 22,5% for the 11 months of 2008 in comparison with the same period of 2007 and achieved the long-waited reception of the first one-million passenger.
One of the reasons why there is a stable PAX growth at Minsk National Airport despite the world financial crises is the policy of increase of the competitiveness. In 2008 there was inculcated the system of common use of automatic check-in of passengers at the airport that helps to use the systems of registration of different companies; special devices and technological equipment for handling passengers and aircrafts were renewed and replaced; thorough repairs of the runaway and artificial covering of the aerodrome were held; accomplishment of the airport landside is being held including building the car parking and so on.
The next achievement of the main airport of the Republic of Belarus is the certificate of correspondence to the international standard OHSAS 18001:2007 “The system of management of professional health and industrial safety” (April 2008) and ecological certificate of correspondence to ISO 14001-2004 (December 2008). These certificates expand the number of certificates that the airport already has: the system of management of quality for correspondence to the international standard ISO 9001:2000 and the system of management of foodstuff safety for correspondence to the international standard ISO 22000:2005.
All the transformations held at the airport help to achieve the level of handling passengers in accordance with the world standards.
